Committed to Quality, Affordable Veterinarian Care
No one is more committed to pets and their families than we are!
For nearly 30 years, The Animal League, a 501 c(3) Non-Profit and no-kill rescue located in Groveland, FL, has been committed to helping the pets and the people of Central Florida. From our inception, our mission has been this: spay, neuter, adopt. During 2016, an average of 100 homeless pets each month found loving, forever homes. In September, we took another step toward fulfilling our mission – we opened The Animal League Wellness Center, our very own animal clinic, in Leesburg, Florida!
As passionate animal lovers and advocates, we’ve always been committed to helping pets find homes. Because of The Animal League Wellness Center, we are pleased to provide top notch care to pets across Central Florida at an affordable price. Our compassionate and knowledgeable staff treat your furry family member as if he or she were their own! Regardless of if your pet needs a spay/neuter surgery, dental work, heartworm treatment, vaccines, or a routine wellness exam, all our clients can be assured that they will receive first class service at an affordable price.
Here at The Animal League, our non-profit status makes us acutely aware of the need for affordable vet care. We are happy to be able to treat our very own pets at The Animal League Wellness Center, but we are even more excited to be able to extend quality, low cost vet care to all of Central Florida! We hope this will allow us renewed success in address issues in our community such as pet overpopulation, affordable pet care, and the spaying and neutering of community cats.
We routinely advocate for routine veterinary care as part of responsible pet ownership.
We believe NO pet should be denied healthcare simply because of the owner’s budget. Veterinary bills can be expensive, and no loving pet owner should have to consider rehoming their beloved companion because of high costs. We support pet parents in our community just as much as we support the animals, which is one of the many reasons we worked so hard to open our low cost clinic. The Animal League Wellness Center allows us to expand our community outreach programs, such as the Neighborhood Pet Program, which focuses on pet ownership education, as well as keeping pets happy and healthy in targeted, underserved neighborhoods throughout Lake County, FL.
“The Animal League Wellness Center will continue our commitment to our mission of enhancing the lives of animals and people in our community. Our professional, yet compassionate approach to pet care reflects the care philosophy we have had over the last 28 years as an organization: treat each pet like a member of your own family.” – Doreen Barker, Executive Director
This guiding philosophy, paired with the expertise and empathy of our staff, makes for a uniquely agreeable vet care and animal clinic experience. As they walk through our doors, our guests will find a calm, quiet, and relaxing environment for themselves and their pets. Our spacious waiting areas, and large examination rooms create a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere. Local artist and longtime Animal League supporter, Kathie Camara, donated dozens of hand painted pet portraits which adorn the walls throughout the clinic. Our friendly office and veterinary staff are ready to greet you with a smile, and will help answer all of your questions with their years of expertise. Your pets might even get a treat or two! “The goal is for everyone, either two legged or four, to feel welcome as soon as they enter the veterinary clinic,” says Barker.
We are excited to meet you and your furkids!
